Firefighters were called to the A92 Dundee to Arbroath road near The Bell Tree, Panmurefield, at about 3pm. Two fire and rescue appliances, one from Balmossie and another from the Kingsway, were called to the scene. A fire and rescue spokeswoman said: “It was just after 3pm. There was a car on fire. We just had two appliances put to that one. The car fire on the A92 “One breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet was in use. We got the stop message back after 20 minutes.” One passerby said he spotted flames rising from the front of the vehicle. He said:”At first it was just smoke but as they opened the bonnet flames were coming out and also underneath the car”. Nobody is said to have been injured during the incident.
