The fire is causing long delays on the M90 between Halbeath and Kelty.
A stretch of the M90 is likely to remain closed throughout Thursday evening because of a van fire.
Major disruption has been reported between Junction 3 Northbound at Halbeath, and Junction 4 Southbound at Kelty due to the blaze, involving a white Ford Transit.
Traffic has been halted in both directions, causing large tailbacks throughout the evening rush hour, and there are reports of long delays as traffic is diverted through Cowdenbeath.
The closure was put in place shortly after 4.20pm, and while the fire has now been extinguished, emergency services remain at the scene.
