(best available) Police searching for missing man Bryan McKie have confirmed that sadly they have found a body. Officers had cordoned off an area of Victoria Road in Kirkcaldy on Wednesday afternoon as they searched for the 53-year-old. A helicopter had also been involved in the search. Earlier, police had appealed for the public’s help in tracing Mr McKie, who had been missing for a week. He was last seen leaving his home in Rosabelle Street on Tuesday January 17 and was reported missing on Monday January 24. Officers searching in the Victoria Road area on Wednesday confirmed they had discovered the body of a man. Mr McKie’s next of kin have been informed and police said they will be supported at this difficult time. Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
