A car fire on the M90 just outside Dunfermline caused problems for motorists travelling through Fife on Thursday afternoon.
Police said they were called to the northbound section of motorway just past junction three at Halbeath at around 1.30pm following a collision between a car and a lorry.
Smoke was seen coming from the car involved and a fire crew from Dunfermline was called.
No-one is thought to have been seriously injured in the incident, although traffic began to build in the area as emergency services made the situation safe to recover the vehicles involved.
The left hand lane was closed for a time by police.
