Police have formally identified the body of a missing man in rural Perthshire as 71-year-old Richard Foster.
Mr Foster disappeared from his home in Comrie on Monday morning.
An extensive search operation was carried out in the Glen Lednock area, a few miles from his home.
Police recovered a body while searching the area on Wednesday.
It has now been confirmed as Richard Foster.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man found near Comrie on Wednesday 24th October has been formally identified as missing person Richard Foster.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
“We would like to take this opportunity to again thank the members of the public who responded to or shared our appeals for information.
“Your help was very much appreciated by ourselves and also by Richard’s family.”
