It was a wheeze worthy of Jack and Victor themselves.
A man barred from a Dunfermline nightclub fooled bouncers by disguising himself perfectly for Halloween only to be found out when it won him the club’s fancy dress contest.
James Jack and Kieran Pierce dressed up as Still Game’s Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade for a Halloween night atLourenzos nightclub.
Although Kieran had been barred from the club for misbehaviour, the pair’scostumes were so good he was able to slip by bouncers completely unrecognised.
The nightclub’s party saw hundreds of revellers dress up in a range of costumes, from zombies to Teeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
James dressed up as Jack while Kieran impersonated Victor and their costumes were so good photographs of the pair were posted on Lourenzos’ Facebook page as part of a competition to find the bestcostume of the night.
Followers of Lourenzos were allowed to choose their favourite of four costumes from the Halloween party the Still Game duo, a zombie, a mauled warrior princess and a ghoulish Little Red Riding Hood.
People overwhelmingly voted for the Still Game characters, which would have won the two men free passes to thenightclub for a year.
However, despite winning the popular vote they were stripped of the prize when club management discovered Kieran had previously been barred from the club and realised that both men had been thrown out during the event itself for their behaviour.
Instead the top prize went to Lindsay Alexander for her Little Red Riding Hood costume.
A statement on Lourenzos’ Facebook page said: “Unfortunately, with regret, we have had to disqualify the people’s first choice ‘Jack & Victor’ due to their adverse behaviour on Saturday night.”
However, it would appear that James is enjoying his notoriety. He wrote on Facebook: “Honestly itsbetter than winning it haha some crack.”
Neither James nor Kieran were available for comment.
