The public have been given a first look at plans for a 22-turbine windfarm in the Angus glens.
Wind Prospect Developments Ltd came to Kilry to show developments in the proposal for Saddle Hill Wind Farm, two miles north-west of the village.
The EDF Energy Renewables project will involve turbines up to 125 metres in height.
Project manager for the firm Rory Carmichael said: “We’d like to thank all those who joined us at Kilry Village Hall to discuss our proposal for Saddle Hill Wind Farm. “It was encouraging to meet so many people from the local community. Our team were on hand to provide details of the proposal, answer questions and gather useful feedback.
“Visibility from the glens will be a key consideration in the design of the windfarm and we are keen to ensure the turbines proposed are well placed to create a windfarm that is considered acceptable by people in the local area.”
Malcolm Connor from the village visited the exhibition and said the proposal is the latest in a long list of large windfarm applications in the glens.
He told The Courier: “There’s so little detail and not much in the way of answers. We’ve been to see similar developments at Bamff and Tullymurdoch, which have the nearby people up in arms.
“The turbines are marching in a line right across the hills.”
Mr Carmichael said the early feedback will go towards shaping the development’s final design.
