Montrose man found dead was dropped off by police hours before

A 42-year-old Montrose man found dead in his communal close on Sunday morning had been dropped off at his home by police the previous night, it has emerged.
It has been reported that the man, who has yet to be named, was taken home by officers after being asked to leave a local nightclub and attempting to get back in.
The man’s body was discovered at 6.15am on Sunday.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that on Sunday, August 9 the body of a 42-year-old man was discovered in a communual close in Christie’s Lane, Montrose.
“The death is being treated as suspicious at this stage and, as in all such cases, a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
“As officers of Police Scotland had previous contact with the man, PIRC has been asked to review the circumstances of this police contact, but will not review the circumstances surrounding his death.”
