Council spending £52,000 to fix Dundee House glare problem

Dundee City Council has been forced to fork out over £52,000 on window blinds for its multi-million-pound civic headquarters.
Earlier this year The Courier revealed that staff at Dundee House had complained to bosses over an incessant daylight glare that was affecting their work.
The building, which has been shortlisted for the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland prize, opened last August at a cost of £34 million but without blinds being fitted on its large windows.
Such has been the extent of the problem that a source said sheets of paper were being used to cover the windows.
The oversight, however, should soon be fixed with the council appointing Stirling firm Goldcrest Furnishings a £52,562 contract to fit blinds to the building.
