Dundee FC fans have been warned to behave themselves while in the South Enclosure at Dens, amid claims the future use of the stand is “in jeopardy”.
In a post on Facebook, the club’s supporters’ association (DSA) said recent behaviour in the “Derry” has “attracted the attention of the safety authorities and the police”.
The statement claims the club has been “in discussions” with the authorities regarding the stand following the behaviour of fans in the south-east corner of the South Enclosure during the games against Celtic and Dundee United.
“The minority group are spoiling the enjoyment and indeed endangering the safety of other supporters by their behaviour and are jeopardising the future use of this area,” the supporters’ association post said.
“There were also 14 damaged seats in this smaller area after the derby match.”
The association states that a “more robust” attitude was taken toward ticket checks during Saturday’s Aberdeen match.
“The last thing anyone wants is for the use of this area to be withdrawn by the authorities,” the statement continues.
Fans have already reacted with horror to any suggestion the “Derry” could be closed, with many urging fellow supporters to behave themselves in the future.
