Rain lashed Tayside and Fife for much of Sunday, with many of the area’s roads affected by water.
Fire crews were called to the streets surrounding the Wheel Inn in Scone after the area began to flood at around 1.20pm. Council workers supplied residents with sandbags as a precaution while firefighters pumped the water away.
Two drivers walked away uninjured after their cars left the A9 in the rainy conditions. The first vehicle, a blue Mazda 4×4, hit a wall near the Shell station outside Auchterarder after losing control at 10.03am. No one was injured.
Just minutes later at 10.08am a silver Peugeot 206 left the road at Aberuthven, near to the Highland Spring building.
It appeared that both crashes had been caused by excess water on the road surface.
In Dundee conditions were bad in the morning and improved later in the day but the rain is forecast to return this week.
Fife can also expect persistent rain on Monday and although there will be snow in the region, it is only expected to hit the hills with road levels escaping the worst of the weather. The heavy downpours are expected to last in coastal areas at least until Wednesday.
