Gumtree dog seller spared jail after animal ‘went wild’
ByGraeme Ogston
A Dundee man whose dog “went wild” and bit a potential Gumtree buyer has avoided a jail sentence.
Dundee Sheriff Court previously heard victim Louise Aiton was left with permanent scarring and nerve damage and now feels “physically sick” at the sight of dogs after Sheedy Rashid’s shar pei tried to drag her by the arm in August 2012.
Rashid was today ordered to complete 225 hours of unpaid work and told to pay Mrs Aiton £800 in compensation.
Rashid, 42, of Thurso Crescent, had admitted that his animal bit Louise Aiton to her severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.
