‘I have so much control’ creator’s boast before DundeeSecrets Twitter page shut down

Police have launched an investigation after a number of social networking pages published obscene comments about people in Dundee.

Facebook and Twitter shut down pages that invited people to share lurid sexual rumours.

A @DundeeSecrets Twitter page posted scores of graphic messages and built up almost 1,000 followers in a matter of hours before it was shut down.

The creator of the offensive account had boasted: “I have so much control, just by naming people I have the power to make everyone in Dundee fall out with each other.”

Meanwhile, police confirmed a complaint had been received about one of the Facebook pages and the matter was under inquiry.

An education official in Dundee has also strongly condemned those responsible for setting up and contributing to the sites as cyber bullies.
