It was more Little Jimmy than Big Mac when Dundee woman Alison Grant popped into McDonalds for a pre-concert snack on Thursday.
As she waited for her order to arrive, Alison was stunned when she turned round to see Jimmy Osmond and his brothers, Jay and Merrill, patiently waiting for their “good ole apple pie” at the Reform Street restaurant.
Alison, who was on her way to see the Osmonds perform at Boogie Nights in the Caird Hall, quickly grabbed Jimmy (now 49) and asked him to pose for a photograph with her.
The seventies heart-throb generously obliged as he and his brothers chatted easily with the customers and staff.
Alison said: “It was a fantastic night, the best I have ever had at the Caird Hall.
“I met the Osmonds in McDonalds previous to the show, which really made my night.
“I don’t think the young staff knew who they were serving to begin with because they let them queue up with everybody else then kept Jay waiting on his apple pie for ages.
“The lads took it all in their stride though and were very friendly and more than happy to chat to the other customers in McDonalds while they were waiting.
“Boogie Nights was a fantastic show. Gareth Gates was also amazing, especially when he stepped in for Donny who wasn’t there and sang Puppy Love with Merrill, Jay and Jimmy.
“I hope this show comes back to Dundee in the future.”
A spokesperson for McDonalds said: “We were delighted to welcome the Osmonds into our restaurant on Reform Street on Thursday evening.”
