A knife-wielding robber held up a Broughty Ferry convenience store and made off with cash, cigarettes and alcohol.
The armed robbery took place at Nisa where a balaclava-clad man presented a knife at a female member of staff shortly after 10pm on Saturday.
The woman was unhurt but shaken up after the incident.
A spokesman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “A male entered the store and presented what appeared to be a yellow handled knife and stole a quantity of cash, cigarettes and alcohol.
He made off with the goods in a black holdall but his direction of travel is unknown.”
CID are currently leading the investigation into the armed robbery and are reviewing CCTV from the area.
The man is described as being around 5ft 10in, thin build with possibly an Irish accent.
As well as a dark balaclava he was wearing a brown zipped jacket, blue jeans and black trainers. He was also carrying a black holdall which he used to carry his stolen goods.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who might have information about the man’s identity is being asked to contact police on 2101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
