More points to charge up electric cars across Dundee
ByThe Courier Reporter
Sites for owners of electric cars to charge up will triple after more were given the green light all over Dundee city centre.
There are only seven places to power up but preparation works for 14 more were approved by the city development committee.
Currently, there are charging points at Belsize Road, Axeon in Noble Road, Claverhouse social work department on Jack Martin Way, Oranges and Lemons on Explorer Road, as well as Greenmarket and Gellatly Street car parks.
Dundee Housing Office West on Sinclair Street is to get a second thanks to Transport Scotland funding which has also paid for one at the Whitfield Life Services Centre.
The latest sites being prepared are Courthouse Square, two on Perth Road, Nethergate, Trades Lane, Panmure Street, South Tay Street, Dock Street, Meadowside and Johnston Street as well as car parks on Queen Street, Broughty Ferry, Shore Terrace, South Tay Street and Bank Street in Lochee.
