One of Dundee’s newest buildings will be decorated with a modern art sculpture.
Hundreds of stainless steel rectangles are to be installed at the Olympia Car Park on East Whale Lane. The panels are hinged at the top so they move with the wind.
The installation will create four temporary jobs and training for 10 people, according to the council.
“In the end, the construction of the building lent itself very well to weaving something into the structure or hanging something from it,” said Will Dawson, convener of Dundee City Council’s city development committee.
“We wanted to pick up on a concept pioneered by an American environmental artist called Ned Kahn, and after speaking with him he was happy that we use similar materials and techniques to those he has used on a number of major buildings in the States,” he added.
