A BROUGHTY Ferry man has made an amazing artistic discovery after peeling back the layers of old wallpaper in his living room.
Paint sprayer Scott Oswald, from Church Street, unearthed a self-portrait of three men who papered the room 30 years ago.
“I was just scraping the walls and then as the layers of paper were coming off I was starting to see markings,” he said.
“It’s a framed picture that’s been hand-painted. It’s like my living room with three men standing in it and a window with the Tay Bridge in the background.”
Inscribed underneath are the words “Painted and papered by Joe Ramsay, Brian Kidd and Brian Shepherd for D.S. Fender of Kirriemuir July 16 1982.”
Now Scott is determined to track down the artists.
“It’s like something you won’t see again in your life,” he said. “I was totally shocked it’s amazing.
“I’ve decided to down tools until I find the people because I reckon it would put a really big smile on their faces to see it again.”
