ByJenny Thomson
A medical emergency involving a teenage girl who had to be rushed to Ninewells Hospital from Arbroath led to police closing down roads as they sped through Dundee yesterday evening.
The 15-year-old girl was raced to hospital in a police-driven ambulance while paramedics tended to her.
The ambulance was escorted by two police cars front and back through Dundee to make sure the roads were clear so they could reach the hospital as quickly as possible.
A police spokesman said the incident was a “medical matter” and it is thought the girl collapsed and hurt her head just before 6pm.
Police inquiries were ongoing at the scene in Arbroath last night.
