A Dundee teenager has died suddenly on the Spanish island of Majorca.
Nadine Duffy, 19, was working at a bar in Magaluf for the summer.
Her best friend Courtney Halliday, who spent the start of the summer with her in the party town, today paid tribute to the “happy girl.”
“We got the news just yesterday,” she said. “It was a total shock, it was just unbelievable.
“She was such a happy girl. I was her closest friend. We had been friends for ages since school.”
Nadine went to Morgan Academy and was the middle of three sisters.
Courtney added: “She had been working as a rep at a bar in Magauluf. She was loving it.
“She worked there for the whole summer. She was meant to be coming home in four weeks.
“She will be greatly missed.”
Described by her family as a tomboy, she had played football since she was 10 and even tried out for Scotland.
She played for Celtic Girls Tayside for three and a half years.
Dundee United player John Souttar took to Twitter to pay tribute to the teen.
He wrote: “Heard the horrible news this morning. Thoughts are with her family.”
Jordan Moore added: “Horrible news this morning. RIP Nadine Duffy. Very nice girl.”
