ByThe Courier Reporter
Firefighter Stevie McCrorie’s dream of winning The Voice was kept alight as he was given a guaranteed place in the semi-final.
The 29-year-old was given a fast pass by coach Ricky Wilson, excluding him from the public vote in the BBC One talent show.
Stevie, the only Scot competing, said he was “speechless” after winning the first place in next week’s semi final and he may do something Scottish in the next live show.
He said: “I feel absolutely amazing.”
When asked by presenter Marvin Hume if he would wear a kilt, he said: “I can always ask if I can wear a kilt and try and do it the proper Scottish way.”
Following his performance Stevie, from Alva, said: “That was one of the best experiences I have had in my life.”
Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky said he was “brilliant” and proved that he could win.
Fellow coach Will.I.Am said Stevie was like the headliner of the show and told him: “You are the real deal.”
Each of the four coaches was given a fast pass to exclude one of their three acts from the public vote.
