Police in Fife have issued an appeal after a young girl was approached and spoken to by a driver in Kelty.
Officers from Police Scotland say the schoolgirl was approached in the area of Main Street, Kelty, around 3.50pm on Tuesday.
The man was described as driving a small, blue car.
Detective Inspector David Russell, who is leading the inquiry, said: “The driver of a small blue car has stopped and offered the 12-year-old girl a lift while she was walking home after finishing school. Although she was unharmed and there was no physical contact between the man and girl, she was alarmed and upset by his actions and ran home.
“Officers are currently seeking more information about the incident and have been speaking to people who may have been in the area on Tuesday afternoon.”
He added: “We are keen to trace anyone who was in the area of Main Street Kelty around that time. Kelty is a small village and at the time this took place there would have been a number pedestrians and road users who may have information which could assist our inquiries.”
