Teenage Fife beauty queen scoops national title

A teenage model has spoken of her delight after winning a national beauty pageant.

Melissa Douglas, 18, from Windygates, Fife, took home the “Miss European Scotland” title at the Miss European finals in Kent.

Though she was eventually pipped to the ultimate title of Miss European by a competitor from Wales, Melissa is proud of the progress she has made.

Following her victory, Melissa paid tribute to her parents, who she says have supported her enormously throughout her time as a model.
