Three men responsible for the large-scale distribution of drugs in Fife and South Lanarkshire have been jailed.
Ryan McIntyre, 29, John McIntyre, 31, and Steven Hamill, 26, were all sentenced to 12 months in prison at Dunfermline Sheriff Court today following an operation carried out by Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit.
Ryan McIntyre, of Whitelaw Crescent, and Hamill, of Lauder Street, both Dunfermline, both previously admitted that on November 7 last year on the A985 near to Longannet roundabout, Kincardine, and in Pilmuir Street, Whitelaw Crescent, Robertson Road, Lauder Street, Iona Road, Gilfillan Road and St Andrews Street, Dunfermline, and in Cambuslang, they were concerned in the supply of cocaine.
John McIntyre, of Laurel Court, Cambuslang, previously admitted that on December 6 last year at his home being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
The sentencing is the result of a six-month intelligence-led police operation.
Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith, of the OCCTU, said: “During this part of the operation, £15,000 worth of cocaine was seized along with a hydraulic press and mixing agents.
“Ryan McIntyre thought he could escape detection by using someone else to transport cocaine on his behalf.
“However, Police Scotland will gather evidence against those who use others in the commission of their criminal enterprise and bring all offenders to justice, not just those who get caught in possession of drugs.”
Detective Superintendent Gordon Crossan, Fife Division, said: “The arrest and conviction of these criminals came about as a result of close working between local police resources in Fife and specialist crime resources across Scotland.
“Fife Division is committed to tackling serious organised crime groups and will continue to listen and react to community concerns.”
