VIDEO: Police investigating after man suffers serious injuries in St Andrews

A man has suffered serious injuries in an early-hours incident in St Andrews.

There has been a heavy police presence in the Rose Lane area of the town since the incident on Sunday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Police in Fife are investigating after a 26-year-old man was found with serious injuries in St Andrews.

“The incident occurred in Rose Lane at around 2am on Sunday. The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, for treatment.

“Enquiries into how the man sustained his injuries are ongoing.”

Eyewitnesses described seeing forensic officers combing the area around Rose Lane. There are also reports of a police incident tent being erected.Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
