The Kirkcaldy fireman returned to work in Fife today after his vocal talent left singer Rita Ora swooning on Saturday night.

He wowed all four coaches on BBC One show The Voice with hispowerful rendition of Kodaline’s All I Want.

All four superstar judges to turn round for him in the blind auditions and the 29-year-old’s performance was the finale of the new series opener.

But after being watched by millions ofviewers and being congratulated on Twitter by celebrities including model Sophie Anderton and former JLS star Marvin Humes, life returned to normal for Stevie today as he clocked on for Blue Watch at Kirkcaldy fire station.

Fire service colleagues who persuaded him to attend auditions back in June texted him yesterday, excited about his success.

Stevie watchedSaturday’s pre-recorded show with friends and family including wife Amy, mum and dad Sandra and Michael andsiblings Michael, Paul and Nadia in a packed pub in his home town of Alva inClackmannanshire.

He said: “The atmosphere was electric. It was like reliving the moment. I could have criedin front of everyone I wasabsolutely bursting with pride.”

Stevie was also overcome with emotion seeing his daughter Bibi, 2, who accompanied him with family to the recording inManchester in October, on screen.

He said: “I almost gave up singing when we had her. I couldn’t keep going on, notgetting signed. Then when I got my career solid I thought why not go for it because singing is what I love.”

Stevie chose Ricky Wilson’s team over those of Ora and fellow coaches Tom Jones and Will.i.am.

He now progresses to the battle stagesof the show, in which teams of 12contestants are whittled down to seven.
