A woman has died in hospital following a road accident in Fife that yesterday claimed the life of an eight-year-old boy.
The 36-year-old female passed away at Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital less than 24 hours after the collision between a car and a lorry on the A92 on the outskirts of the town.
Police confirmed on Monday that an eight-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene of Monday’s tragic accident involving a Ford Focus and a timber lorry, just yards from the Redhouse Roundabout.
A nine-year-old boy, who was a passenger within the Focus, suffered what police described as serious injuries to his face.
It is understood that the occupants of the car were not from Fife and had been travelling through the region, and that they were not all members of the same family.
