She’s done it again Loch of the Lowes’ Lady lays another egg
ByKirsty McIntosh
Record-breaking Loch of the Lowes stalwart Lady the osprey has laid her first egg of the season.
The egg, laid 20 days after Lady’s return to Perthshire, brings to an end a tense wait for Scottish Wildlife Trust staff.
Prior to her return staff and volunteers at Loch of the Lowes were doubtful that they would see her again.
But on March 30 Lady soared into the reserve for a 23rd year.
There were fears that Lady, the oldest breeding osprey in the UK, could be put off by a nearby rival but it’s been revealed that the plucky bird laid her 65th egg shortly after noon on Wednesday.
