Dundee keeper Kyle Letheren in line for Wales call-up
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee keeper Kyle Letheren will soon be rubbing shoulders with the world’s most expensive footballer, Gareth Bale, after earning a dream call-up for Wales.
Courier Sport understands that national coach Chris Coleman will name the 26-year-old in his squad for their opening Euro 2016 qualifying clash in Andorra next month.
Letheren’s selection is a reward for an impressive start to the Premiership season with the Dark Blues.
He has conceded just two goals in their opening four league matches.
And Dundee fans will forever remember Letheren’s last-minute save to deny Dumbarton an equaliser as they secured promotion from the Championship on the final day of last season.
Now, in less than a fortnight, he is set to join up with the likes of Real Madrid’s Bale and Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey.
* Dundee have confirmed the signing of Dylan Carreiro.
The 19-year-old forward has been on trial with the club for a few weeks.
The Canadian has been at QPR after leaving his homeland.
