Gavin Gunning passed ‘thorough medical’ with Birmingham City

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is confident Gavin Gunning will be a success despite concerns over his knee.
The former Dundee United defender, who signed for the Blues on Thursday, had failed a medical at Sheffield Wednesday before making the move to the Midlands.
Clark said: “We’ve given him a thorough medical, as we do all players.
“My medical team, who are very good, have completed a full medical on him and we’re happy with the outcome.”
He added: “Gavin is a left-footed centre-half and there are not many of those around. He gives us good balance.
“We’ve watched him many times and Malcolm Crosby has also been up to Scotland several times to watch him and we’ve had good reports on him and we’re happy to get him.
“He’s a young player who I know from his Blackburn days. He had a few loan moves there and then went up to Scotland and got settled up there. He played in a really good and exciting Dundee United team.
“This one has taken a little bit of time to get over the line because there have been other Championship clubs interested him but he’s chosen us and we’re delighted.”
