Ryan Gauld has been named SPFL Young Player of the Month for November sealing an impressive hat-trick of awards for Dundee United.
Jackie McNamara and left-back Andrew Robertson had already claimed the manager and player of the month awards, and Gauld has completed the clean sweep to cap what has been a wonderful spell for the Tannadice men.
The Tangerines would have claimed a 100% winning league record in November but for Charlie Mulgrew’s last-minute equaliser for Celtic at Parkhead on the 2nd.
But, from there, United really hit top gear with Gauld and Robertson at the centre of things.
They beat Motherwell 4-0, with Gauld grabbing two goals and Robertson one in a performance Well manager Stuart McCall said was the best of any visiting side in his time at Fir Park.
Robertson was back on the scoresheet a week later when United again smashed in four goals at home against Partick Thistle.
But it was the display of Gauld that had all of Scottish football talking. The ‘Mini Messi’ put on an absolute masterclass, setting up all of United’s goals.
As well as their club performances, Gauld also enjoyed his first call-up to the Scotland U21 squad, where he joined Robertson in helping the Scots to a 1-1 draw with Georgia on November 14.
The pair were back in action on Saturday as McNamara’s side’s hot streak continued into December with yet another four-goal haul in their victory over Hearts.
That followed a 5-2 victory over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup, when United’s goalscoring left-back Robertson scored two to take his season’s tally to five.
