New Brechin City boss Darren Dods will begin the new season at the heart of the Glebe Park defence to help his squad get used to how he wants them to play.
Dods, who turned 40 earlier this month, made his debut for Brechin in midweek when they faced Aberdeen in a friendly.
Despite conceding a penalty as a makeshift side went down 8-2, Dods will continue with a playing and managing role.
He said: “We do not have a lot of experience at the club just now so I think it is appropriate to keep on playing until that changes.
“I will start the campaign playing as that will help put over what I want us to do as a team and then we will take things from there.”
