Dundee Stars: Face injury ends Rory Rawlyk’s season
ByThe Courier Reporter
Rory Rawlyk’s ice hockey season with Gardiner Conference winners Dundee Stars is over, it has been confirmed.
The Canadian-born defender has had surgery after breaking his nose, fracturing his cheek bone and cracking an eye socket in a freak training accident late last month.
The 30-year-old also had an imprint of the puck on his eyeball and he said: “I was fortunate I did not lose an eye.”
Jeff Hutchins, Dundee’s player/coach, said: “Rory is done for the season. It is unfortunate but we will just have to get on with it.”
