Two more former Strathallan School players have been brought into pro rugby in Scotland as 15 new recruits were named as Elite Development Players with the Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh next season.
Props Zander Fagerson and Cameron Fenton have been selected for Glasgow.
Fagerson left Strathallan last year and has been playing for Glasgow Hawks in the Premiership, while Fenton, who began his rugby at Howe of Fife RFC and played for their first XV last year, has been with Scotland under-20s at the Junior World Cup this month.
Earlier this year their former school team-mate and another Howe product, Scotland under-18 captain Jamie Ritchie, was given a full pro contract at Edinburgh Rugby after impressing head coach Alan Solomons on a lengthy training trial.
The 15 new recruits include Scotland under-20 captain Tommy Spinks who is returning north from London Scottish to join the Warriors.
Others returning home from playing in England are prop Callum Sheldon who joins Edinburgh after being in Newcastle Falcons’ Academy, and Glenn Bryce, brother of newly-capped Scotland hooker Kevin and son of Alloa and Heriot’s stalwart Jockie, who will join Glasgow from Doncaster.
Eight have joined Glasgow with a further seven going to Edinburgh, and another two are to be named to the capital club in the near future.
Jack Steele, the former Perthshire and Dundee HSFP centre, has been given a second EDP contract with Glasgow, as has back-row forward Andy Redmayne, who played club rugby at Mayfield.
