A pair of US Olympic athletes visited Perthshire to enjoy a spot of fishing this week.
Bryan Clay and Jeremy Campbell are used to competing in front of tens of thousands of spectators in the world’s greatest sporting arenas, but on Monday they were the picture of relaxation as they indulged in fishing on the banks of the River Tummel.
Clay, the reigning Olympic decathlon champion, and Campbell, who scooped gold in the pentathlon and discus at the 2008 Paralympics, were staying at the East Haugh Hotel, Pitlochry, as part of a drive to promote UK tourism ahead of the 2012 London Olympics.
They were taken fishing by Colin McFadyen, the ghillie at East Haugh.
The athletes were in Pitlochry as part of Team USA: Britain Bound. They are documenting their tour at teamusa.org/britainbound.
