Margaret Laing Devine, a former primary school teacher in Dundee and Angus, has died suddenly at her home in Broughty Ferry.
Mrs Devine, who was born in Dundee and educated at Lawside School, was 73.
After leaving school she trained as a teacher at Craiglockart Catholic Teaching School in Edinburgh before starting her career with a post at St Vincent’s in Dundee in the early 1960s.
Over the years she also taught at St Matthew’s, Powrie and Carmyllie Primaries, as well as a spell in Aberdeen where her late husband Tom was adviser in music to schools in the city.
The couple returned to Dundee, where he became assistant adviser of music to Dundee schools.
Mrs Devine often assisted him with events and courses at the Dundee Schools Music Centre in Bell Street.
She retired from teaching during the late 1990s but continued to assist Mr Devine at the centre.
