Dundee ready to make its case to be home of national sports performance centre

Plans for a national performance centre are expected to be announced today, with Dundee in the running to host the multi-million-pound sporting venture.
Sports Minister and Dundee East MSP Shona Robison is to make an announcement on the development that will including a national football academy.
Jenny Marra, MSP for North East Scotland, has been running a petition to bring the centre to the city said it is ”great news” the sports minister is announcing details.
She continued: ”This will let the council’s bid team put the meat on the bones of Dundee’s bid to make sure that it will beat other cities. Dundee really wants the national football academy here.”
Ms Robison will be joined by Stewart Regan, chief executive of the Scottish FA, at Hampden Park today as well as with the national team coach, Craig Levein, and the Scottish FA performance director, Mark Wotte.
