A contractor has died after collapsing at a Glenrothes factory.
The unnamed employee was working at Phoenix Precision at Crompton Road, Southfield Industrial Estate, when ambulance crews were called to the scene just before midday on Thursday.
It is understood the factory is undergoing refurbishment and staff were sent home early after the incident.
A Fife police van was at the scene, with officers leaving the premises shortly after 2pm.
A statement from the force said: ”Officers from Fife Constabulary were asked to attend an incident at the Phoenix Engineering Works in Glenrothes by the Scottish Ambulance Service, following the collapse of an employee.
”As a result, the incident is being investigated by Fife Police and we are currently in contact with the Health and Safety Executive.”
Nobody from Phoenix Precision was available for comment.
