The Beano’s Bash Street Kids will have a Dundee street named in their honour.
The city council last night approved a request from The Courier’s publisher DC Thomson to give the title Bash Street to an unnamed street by West Marketgait.
Bash Street, along with a Beano-themed activity centre, is part of the publisher’s plan to celebrate The Beano’s 75th anniversary next year.
Licensing manager Martin Lindsay said: ”We’re delighted Dundee City Council has approved our request to name the new street Bash Street.
”Bash Street ties in with a proposed activity centre within the former works buildings off West Marketgait. It’s all part of our plan to celebrate The Beano, which turns 75 in July next year.”
The indoor activity centre with crche-style facilities is aimed at children aged from 2-10. It will also feature a digital play area.
