The former Haldane’s store in Crieff closed last year, but now it will reopen under a new guise. Javeed Akhtar has taken on the Penny Lane premises and will reopen it next week as a Nisa shop. Over the last few months, it has undergone a major refit in time for its official launch on December 21. Mr Akhtar said: “We didn’t want to open up just a rebrand of previous stores. “We wanted to give it a different feel and make it look visibly different when customers come in. “People have already been curious about what we are doing and we hope that they will be pleased with the new store,” added Mr Akhtar. As well as bringing a supermarket back to Crieff, the development will also provide a significant boost to the town by creating 20 jobs.
