A man drove along a busy Fife road while more than four times the legal alcohol limit, a court has heard.
Martin Alexander Gavigan, 43, of MacDonald Court, Larbert, admitted having a reading of 159 mics on his breath after being stopped by police on the A91 Melville Lodges to Auchterarder Road on August 26.
The legal limit is 35 mics.
Depute fiscal Douglas Wiseman told the court police acting on reports about the quality of Gavigan’s driving caught up with him and stopped his car just before 11am.
The officers said there was a strong smell of alcohol and saw a bottle of wine on the front passenger seat.
The accused maintained he had last consumed alcohol the previous day, Mr Wiseman told the court.
Sheriff Tom Hughes said due to the high reading reports would be required and granted him bail, deferring sentence until November 20.
