A 48-year-old man who breached his Asbo to visit his mum on Christmas Day his ninth breach of the same order since 2012 has been jailed.
Raymond Norrie, of Dundee Cyrenians, Brewery Lane, was sentenced at Dundee Sheriff Court to nine months in jail.
He admitted breaching anti-social behaviour orders prohibiting him from entering Fintry Mains.
Depute fiscal Laura Bruce said: “He went to visit his mother at her home on Christmas Day and his brother contacted police to say he was there.”
Police traced him later after he left in a taxi before they arrived.
Solicitor Theo Finlay told the court Norrie had a “significantly debilitating alcohol problem”.
He said although there were no drink or behaviour issues in this case, “he was simply going there to see his mum”.
“However, he consumed one litre of whisky and his behaviour became intimidating, which is why his mother and brother got involved and gave the information they did to police.”
Sheriff Alastair Brown said: “It seems you are somewhat of a menace.”
