A spate of thefts from cars in Glenrothes has prompted a warning from police to owners to ensure vehicles are locked.
Motors were targeted in Greystone Park, at Glenwood Health Centre, Napier Road, Auchaven Gardens and Scott Road.
Police believe they were left unlocked and have issued an appeal for witnesses or information. The crimes were committed overnight between last Thursday and yesterday.
Community Sergeant Kenny Greig said: “Various items have been stolen such as money, golfing equipment and an iPad.
“It appears that the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the crimes and I would remind vehicle owners to make it as difficult as possible for these opportunist criminals.”
Drivers were also urged to remove expensive items from vehicles.
Security advice was issued in response the thefts, which included a reminder to never leave a car unattended with the key in the ignition while defrosting windows or paying for petrol.
It was also advised to park cars in garages or driveways where possible and to avoid parking in isolated areas.
No valuables should be left on view and glove boxes should be empty and open, police said.
