Dundee United fans would have paid £25 to take their seat at Hampden had the club won its battle over prices for the League Cup final.
It is understood their opponents on March 15, Celtic, would have been satisfied with a £30 admission cost.
That left the clubs to come up with a compromise figure of £28, with concessions at £12.
Those tickets are for the West Stand at the national stadium – known as the traditional Rangers end by some – and will number 10,000 initially.
The parties decided to meet roughly in the middle after the Tannadice club appealed to the SPFL to reduce prices to £25 if possible.
The Tangerines have also been allocated upper and lower tier sections of the South (or Main) Stand, with adult prices coming in at £35.
More tickets will become available for the retained sections of West Stand once the original allocation is sold and that means United could walk out at Hampden backed by 18,000 fans, which compares to Celtic’s allocation of 25,000.
