A 49-year-old man has been rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following an accident in Perth.
He sustained serious head injuries after he was involved in a collision with a Stagecoach bus in the town’s Scott Street on Tuesday.
Emergency services were contacted by a shocked member of the public shortly after 5pm and an ambulance crew from Perth was on scene within minutes.
The Tayside Trauma Team from Ninewells was also mobilised and helped to transfer the man to Ninewells.
Tayside Police said the injured man was from the town.
Scott Street was cordoned off for a short time as the emergency services arrived.
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach in Perth said there had been around a dozen passengers on the bus.
It’s understood that none suffered an injury, while the driver of the bus was also uninjured.
The spokeswoman added, “We are now assisting police with their inquiries and will also carry out our own investigation into the incident.”
The incident took place in a busy part of town, near to the Poundstretchers store, and may have been seen by a number of people.
