A fisherman had to be rescued by RAF helicopter after falling 25ft off cliffs in Angus last night.
The 40-year-old slipped from rocks at Boddin Point, three miles south of Montrose, at around 7.35pm.
The angler was complaining of pains to his leg and ankle.
Police officers were first on the scene, followed by Coastguard teams from Montrose, Stonehaven, Arbroath and Carnoustie, who went down the rocks using ropes to reach the injured man.
A helicopter was also called from RAF Boulmer in Northumberland
The man was then winched up into the helicopter then taken to Ninewells Hospital.
A spokesman for the coastguard said the man was breathing and conscious and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Around 40 emergency service personnel were involved in the rescue.
A police spokesman said: “He had fallen and was unable to get up. The drop was between 20 and 25ft and he was complaining of pain in his ankle.”
