Dundee shopkeeper expecting boom after lottery jackpot win

A Dundee shopkeeper is expecting a surge in lotto sales after a customer hit the jackpot to become a millionaire.
A winning lottery ticket was bought from the Premier Hayat’s Supersave store in Happyhillock. But the winner, and the amount won, is to remain anonymous.
Alfy Hayat, the store’s manager, said: “Everyone in Happyhillock is talking about the win and people are desperate to know who it is but I have no idea.
“I don’t even know if the person lives in Happyhillock or even in Dundee.
“After I heard the news I contacted my National Lottery rep but she has no idea who the winner is.
“This is obviously really exciting for us to know that we sold a winning ticket and now that we have been allowed to tell people, I am expecting to be really busy selling lottery tickets.”
A spokeswoman for Camelot confirmed that a jackpot ticket had been sold in Dundee and had been claimed.
“The Hayat store in Happyhillock sold a winning lottery ticket within the last six months,” she said.
“The winner requested no publicity. I can’t say when the ticket was sold and I can’t reveal how much the person won but the average jackpot is £2.1 million.”
