A crunch meeting is to be held over controversial city bus service changes with bus firm National Express Dundee.
Will Dawson, chairman of the council committee with responsibility for transport-related matters, says the local authority is compiling a city-wide catalogue of complaints about recent timetable changes following a month of criticism from users.
But he has appealed for calm and asked residents to give the new timetables time to bed in.
Residents have started petitions with more than 2000 signatures in the Glens, West End, Lochee, Broughty Ferry and Craigowl areas, with the support of councillors from across the political spectrum.
Mr Dawson said the bus changes had been the “biggest shake up in public transport in Dundee for a long, long time.”
“I think people are upset,” he said. “There are obviously quite a few concerns that routes have changed. There’s been a massive groundswell that people aren’t happy with the services.
“I have a meeting with the city’s director of transportation Neil Gellatly this week to discuss exactly what’s going on and we’ll meet National Express Dundee after that. We meet them on a regular basis anyway.”
He added, “I think there are things that National Express could have done a little bit better, and we’ll be discussing that with them.”
