Little Georgia Conway’s dream comes true

A young Dundee leukaemia sufferer has been given the chance to be treated like royalty.

Georgia Conway (4) has been in and out of the children’s ward at Ninewells Hospital after being diagnosed aged just 23 months, but she has always said she would like to be a princess.

Thanks to local fund-raiser Charlie Kean, she was given that opportunity and even got to meet her own prince.

Georgia’s mum Pamela (29), a florist from Stobswell, was overwhelmed by the generosity shown to her, particularly after a surprise party was held in the duo’s honour.

“Today has been excellent it was a shock but lovely,” she said. “Coming in and seeing everyone in my family -including the dog-was the best part for me.”

The day began with Georgia and Pamela arriving at McIntyre’s Hairdressers to be pampered and have their hair done.

Staff from the Green Room then arrived to give some nail and make-up treatment before Dundee United star Prince Buaben turned up with gifts for Georgia from the Disney Store, including a dress, slippers and a tiara.

To complete the princess look, jewellers Stephen Henderson donated necklaces for both Georgia and Pamela.

A limousine, complete with police escort, whisked the trio through the town to meet Lord Provost John Letford, who presented Pamela with flowers.

It was then time for the princess to head to her castle, in this case the Landmark Hotel, which provided the family with a royal reception and the surprise party.
