A £30,000 Fiat 500? Yes, you did read that correctly. The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will cost £29,600 a pretty big mark-up on a car that starts at under £9500.
The 1.4 litre turbo this version is based on retails at a little over £14,000.
Can it possibly be worth it? Well you’ll be buying a lot of exclusivity.
Only 152 right-hand-drive examples will be making their way to the UK, meaning they’ll probably be even more exclusive than Aston Martin’s Cygnet a similarly expensive city car based on Toyota’s IQ.
The engine has been tuned to deliver 20bhp more, for a total of 180bhp, it will hit 62mph from standstill in seven seconds and has a top speed of 140mph.
As its name suggests, the car is inspired by Fiat subsidiary Ferrari, and the styling is heavily influenced by the legendary sports car marque.
The exterior has a Ferrari-esque paint job, carbon door mirrors and Corsa Grey alloy wheels and intake vents.
A variable pressure sports exhaust changes the engine sound over a certain rev limit, while suspension, tyres and brakes have all been uprated.
Inside, there’s paddle shift for F1-style gear changes, leather bucket seats and aluminium pedals.
The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is available to order now through Abarth’s 17-strong UK dealer network.
